Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or tube. Breathing 100% oxygen under pressure allows oxygen to dissolve into the blood plasma, resulting in increased oxygen delivery to the tissues. Hyperbaric oxygen acts as an anti-viral and anti-bacterial, as bacteria and viruses typically cannot tolerate oxygen. It helps fight bacteria and stimulates the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, thereby promoting healing.
How is it done?
In a Hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber, the air pressure is three times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs can gather more oxygen than at normal air pressure. Your blood carries this oxygen throughout your body.
Why is it done?
Your body's tissues need an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissue is injured, it requires even more oxygen to survive. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. An increase in blood oxygen temporarily restores blood gases and tissue function to normalcy, thereby promoting healing and fighting infection.
For cancer patients, surgery is not the best option. Post chemotherapy and radiation most patients become weak and their condition deteriorates. We treat them through HBOT (Hyperbaric oxygen therapy), ozone therapy, and Intravenous infusion of a high dose of vitamin ‘C’ to boost their immunity levels. The patients recover very well and experience a good amount of improvement post-treatment.
